PIP APPLICATION SUPPORT

We work with individuals to help navigate the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) application process, understanding award letters and next steps.

What is Personal Independence Payment (PIP)?

PIP stands for Personal Independence Payment, a UK government benefit designed to help cover the additional costs of living with a long-term illness or disability.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) replaces Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for adults aged 16 to 64, and is paid regardless of whether you're in work.

Eligibility for PIP is assessed using a points-based system, where you're awarded points based on how much difficulty you have with specific daily living and mobility activities, such as preparing food, washing, dressing, and moving around.

How PIP works

There are 2 parts to PIP - a daily living part for if you need help with everyday tasks and a mobility part if you need help with getting around

Whether you get one or both parts and how much you get depends on how difficult you find everyday tasks and getting around.

Financial support toward the everyday challenges of independent living. Tasks such as eating meals, personal hygiene, getting dressed, reading and communicating, managing medication, handling money and budgeting decisions, and interacting with others socially.
