Wired Differently Features at Birmingham Tech Week
Birmingham Tech Week is a dynamic, week-long celebration of innovation, learning, and collaboration. The event brings together tech SMEs and major industry players from across the region, alongside colleges, training providers, and sector experts, for a packed programme of conferences, expos, and L&D opportunities.
Throughout the week, attendees enjoyed keynote talks and panel discussions covering the latest trends and challenges in tech. Tuesday’s highlight was the Skills Symposium, where our very own Anthony Gribben-Lisle joined a 45-minute panel exploring how neurodivergent individuals can enrich the workforce. The session also tackled common misconceptions around workplace adjustments, offering fresh perspectives and practical insights.

Birmingham Tech Week Thank You
As a former Chief Information Officer for a large public sector organisation, consultant in the education and skills sector, and Co-founder of Wired Differently, Anthony contributed his unique insights into the current gaps in the tech workforce, and the opportunities for individuals and businesses to benefit from the simple changes that make a workplace more ND-friendly. After reminding the business owners and HR professionals in the audience of the need for them to create environments that attract ND talent, the Panel went on to debunk many of the common myths around workplace adjustments and barriers to building successful diverse teams.
Anthony said:
"It was great to see so much enthusiasm in the room, and so many people ready to learn how to better support their neurodivergent colleagues. I firmly believe that if we focus on equity in the workplace and creating a culture of belonging, the diverse teams we want to build will follow. Inclusion is about recognising those differences, and normalising the small adjustments we make along the way to make sure our colleagues feel valued and our teams do their best work."
